What is the NC Digital Futures Program?
Our vision is that in North Carolina, every individual on a farm, in a household, and in business will have the digital skills necessary to EARN, LEARN, BE WELL, and LIVE WELL. By providing individuals with essential digital skills, we strive to close the skills gap and promote economic growth throughout North Carolina.
Led by N.C. Cooperative Extension, the program leverages decades of community-based education experience and a presence in all 100 counties and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Extension Centers serve as vital hubs for digital learning and support.

One-on-One Tech Tutoring & Office Hours
Personalized assistance is available at libraries, community centers, churches, and housing sites. Learn skills such as: • Mobile phone basics • Internet safety • Email and social media • Online banking and health portals • AI basics and smartphone photography • And more, based on community needs
Mobile Digital Classrooms
We bring the classroom to you—equipped with laptops, internet, and training at accessible local sites.
NC Work From Anywhere Program
We prepare residents for flexible, hybrid, and distributed teams employment through recognized remote work certification programs.
Device Distribution
Through partnerships with private foundations and ISPs, we help eligible residents receive computers and the training needed to use them effectively.
Health Literacy & Health Portals
We offer instruction on navigating health portals and managing health online.
