These N.C. Cooperative Extension Agents are enhancing digital skills across different counties in North Carolina. Their initiatives focus primarily on senior adults, with additional emphasis on other underserved populations, including low-income families, veterans, and small-scale farmers. The agents incorporate digital education into existing programs on health, nutrition, agriculture, and community development. They foster partnerships with local organizations, libraries, senior centers, and community groups to deliver workshops, classes, and one-on-one sessions. Key areas of focus include improving basic computer and smartphone skills, promoting online safety, and leveraging digital tools for health and wellness. These efforts aim to bridge the digital divide, enhance quality of life, and support economic development within their communities. The catalyst for this work is a grant from the NC Department of Information Technology, Division of Broadband and Digital Equity.
