NC State Extension, Farmworker and Health Safety Education program, is excited to be hosting a pesticide applicator school in Spanish in 2024 for Spanish speaking pesticide applicators seeking to get their private applicator certification. The School will help those Spanish speaking applicators prepare for the private pesticide applicator exam. Instruction and exam will be presented in Spanish.

Program cost and instructions on how to register:

Instructor for the school will be Cesar Asuaje, from the University of Florida Cooperative Extension.

Check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the program will start at 8:45 a.m. The instruction will end at 3 p.m. followed by the pesticide exam which will be administered by the NCDA&CS (in Spanish). Pre-registration is required. The classes will be limited to 50 participants on a first come, first serve basis.

Higher success in passing the exam requires preparation for the schools. Plan to order the (SPANISH) NC Pesticide Applicator Certification Core Manual at the Pesticide Safety School website. More information in the  Spanish Pesticide Applicator Preparation videos.

Optional FREE Virtual Preparation Workshops:

There will be optional workshops to help participants prepare for the class and exam. The preparation courses will consist of 3 virtual workshops for participants to attend. Items that will be covered are N.C. Pesticide Applicator Core Manual in Spanish, key chapters, concepts, and study and testing skills. Upon registration, students registered will be contacted to be registered and provided details on the preparation courses.

These programs are ideal for farms that have Spanish speaking agricultural workers that are applying pesticides and anyone that is interested in getting their private applicator certification in Spanish.
