In Bertie County, AI education became part of a love story.

On March 26, 2026, Rebecca Jinnette, Digital Skills Educator with N.C. Cooperative Extension, conducted a follow-up visit with a client she had worked with extensively on AI tools. The client had independently created a personalized image for his upcoming 53rd wedding anniversary. He wanted to turn it into a greeting card for his wife.

Rebecca helped him take the next step. Together, they used Canva to design a bifold card, format it for his card stock, finalize the design, and print it.

The finished card was more than a digital project. It was a meaningful gift, created with new confidence and skill.

This story shows that AI education is not only about productivity or efficiency. It can also support creativity, connection, and personal expression. With patient one-on-one support, residents can begin to see themselves as capable users of emerging technology.
