Collapse ▲CREATE BRIDGES, an economic development initiative sponsored by Walmart and facilitated by NC State Extension, is holding a series of Civic Forums in December 2020 for the Mountain West Region of North Carolina. The Mountain West Region includes Jackson, Swain, Macon, and Graham Counties, and the Qualla Boundary.
These Civic Forums introduce the local public to the CREATE BRIDGES initiative, which is focused on strengthening the retail, accommodation, tourism, and entertainment sectors in the region. NC State University specialists will lead attendees through a presentation that outlines the purpose and timeline of the initiative and will ask for feedback on the region’s strengths, challenges, and opportunities.

Forum #1 – Swain and Graham Counties and the Qualla Boundary (December 1, 2020; 3–4:30 p.m.)
Forum #2 – Jackson County (December 4, 2020; 2–3:30 p.m.)
Forum #3 – Macon County (December 4, 2020; 3:30–5 p.m.)
